“ My husband had the Mostaccioli, which he said was excellent. I had the tortellini special with pink sauce (a combination of red and alfredo), and our 9 year-old picky eater had plain spaghetti (which they sprinkled dried basil on, but she ate it anyway, yay!) I got the feeling the waiter was used to picky kiddos, and he was very understanding. We had a side of breadsticks, which were very tasty. The red sauce is a true Italian marinara, savory without the sweetness a lot of American sauces have. The alfredo was delicious, and I have to admit most of my breadsticks went that way. Prices were reasonable and portions just right. I felt comfortable there with the kiddo, and it felt like a pleasant, authentic local business. Staff was kind and attentive, and the food was prompt. Definitely recommend! ”

“ Shells is by far one of the best Italian food restaurants I have ever experienced at the lake before. It is a must try out! Completely impressed with how good this experience was! Loved the homemade sauces, and homemade Italian dressing is also a must try! The garlic bread was perfect! Had two apps, 4 full dinners and had a 12 inch pizza to go, bought an extra 16 oz to go of the Alfredo sauce all for 100. Met the owner before we left and she shared her story and I can tell you that you will be glad you tried this restaurant and will want to go back again and again! Wow! Worth the drive from gravois mills to get here!!! ”

Our food was delicious and just the right sized portion. I found the price to be reasonable, too. My friend who dined with me is diabetic and needed his dinner prepared slightly differently from the menu. They accommodated with no issue at all! That was much appreciated.
